When the oil tank is mentioned, the oil pump has to be lifted, and the oil in the oil tank is transmitted to the engine through the rotor mechanism of the oil pump. The particularity of gasoline model lies in that the oil pump is located in the oil tank. The heat generated by the operation of the rotor mechanism needs the gasoline in the oil tank to cool it. Therefore, the oil pump must be in the state of being soaked by gasoline to maintain the normal working temperature. If the oil level is too low to expose the oil pump, the heat generated by the operation of the rotor will cause the oil pump temperature to be too high and thus damage spare parts.
In addition to the oil pump, there is a float in the oil tank. The float is light and floats on the oil level, and is connected with the oil level sensor. With the rise or fall of the float, it is transmitted to the oil gauge through the oil level sensor. The oil quantity display we can see directly is simply formed in this way.
Compared with the structure of the gasoline tank, the oil pump of the diesel vehicle does not need oil to cool down, because the oil pump of the diesel vehicle works independently from the oil tank and has a special cooling system to cool it down, that is to say, the oil tank of the diesel engine only contains oil, so it can drive at a lower oil level further than the gasoline vehicle. However, due to the protection of parts, it is not recommended to drive with low oil level for a long time for diesel models.
